1. Logging into Online Accounts
Q: What is my "Tradeschool" account?
Tradeschool is the name of our apprenticeship database. By logging into your Tradeschool account, you can view your hours, grades, class information, job history, and more. You can also update your contact information.
Q: How do I set up an account/log in for the first time?
If you are a current apprentice, you should already have an account under the email address we have for you on file. Go to "Login to Tradeschool" under the Apprentice menu. Enter your email address in the given field, and click on "Reset password." You will receive an email with a link to set up a password of your choice.
2. Work Reports, Absences, & Fines
Q: What is the email address if I want to send my work report electronically?
Q: How do I know you received my emailed work report?
We will send you a confirmation email that says, "Received." Keep in mind that we only check that email account once a day, at 8:00 AM. If the file was illegible or if you failed to include your journeyman's signature, we will let you know and you will need to resubmit.
Q: If I turn in my work report after business hours on the 5th of the month, does it count as late?
No. When we check the work report box (and work report email account) at 8:00 AM on the business day after the 5th, all work reports that have been received at that point will not incur a late fee. However, we encourage you to submit your work reports by the 1st of the month.
Q: What are the fines for late work reports?
You will be charged $20 per business day, up to $100. If we do not receive your late work report and your payment by 7:30am on the 20th of the month, your contractor will be notified and you will not be able to go back to work until you have your payment receipt. We offer a ONE-TIME waiver for a late work report fine (one waiver for the entire course of your apprenticeship). If your waiver has not been used and we have not received your payment by the 20th, we will automatically apply the waiver in order to avoid calling your contractor.
Q: What are the fines for absences?
You are permitted 3 absences per year without penalty. The fourth absence incurs a fee of $50. The fifth absence incurs a fee of $100. The sixth absence incurs a fee of $200, plus a mandatory appearance before the committee.
3. Classes and Registration
Q: How much are my registration fees and what do they include?
Your registration fee is $550 per curriculum year. This includes all course textbooks and one code book (you will be responsible for purchasing updated editions of the code book as they are made available). You are also responsible for providing your own tools. Registration fees are due thirty days before classes begin. A late registration payment will incur a fee of $75.
Q: What forms of payment do you accept for registration fees? Can I pay by phone?
We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, or money order. You may pay over the phone, in person, by mail, or put clearly marked payments in our secure work report box after hours.
